Membership in the Chillicothe Rural Fire Protection, Inc. is required in order to have fire protection outside the city limits of Chillicothe, Missouri. Dues for residential membership are $85 per year and are due April 1 each year. An annual billing is sent in February announcing the Annual Meeting held the first Tuesday in April and reminding you that dues are payable before April 1. The membership year is April 1 through March 31. After July 31, membership dues are prorated for new members who have not previously belonged to the CRFP at a rate of $7.50 per month.

Fighting Fires
Members faced with a fire are to call 9-1-1. Through the Enhanced 9-1-1
Tanker Truck (11979 bytes)program of Livingston County, the call is dispatched to the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services, who respond to the call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The fully trained staff uses Chillicothe Rural Fire Protection, Inc. equipment to fight member fires. CRFP pays the City of Chillicothe a per member fee determined by the contract between CRFP and the City.

If you do not have fire coverage, but the city is called to fight a fire with the CRFP equipment, by contract with the city, non-members are required to pay $100 for responding to the fire call or alarm, $500 for each hour spent in combating the fire, plus one year's membership fee.

If your new residence is within our service area, you will need a new membership unless it is already covered by membership of the prior owner. If there is a separate residence on the property, a separate membership is required. Please review our by-laws for complete details.
